Summer would not be complete without at least one pair of sandals, the styles and choices available these days are overwhelmingly endless. At rue Madame we have four key requirements for any pair of sandals, regardless of brand or style they must be: well made, comfortable, gorgeous and versatile (both for our own wardrobes and the stores). Every year we scour the globe for your next favourite sandals and this year we are thrilled to have discovered two new brands that tick all the boxes- Mapache (Mexico) and Brador (Italy).

Landing fresh from Italy, Brador is a brand synonymous with elegance comfort and practicality. Brador is not just a summer romance, these European beauties have been designed to last and be loved season after season. Each pair has been handcrafted using traditions and techniques handed down within the family owned company for generations. We love Brador as the combination of high quality leathers and materials alongside the hand crafting techniques ensures that every pair is one of a kind- just like our customers!

The best part of all? Every pair of Brador sandals is designed to become even more beautiful with every wear, the leather becoming softer and developing a rich patina as time goes by. Ā

Founded in 2005, Mexican brand Mapache is inspired by the traditional Mexican huarache. Each of Mapacheā€™s beautiful and intricate shoes are hand braided by one of the brands talented ateliers using ancestral techniques and skills. The result? Shoes that are as gorgeous as they are comfortable to wear. We absolutely love how hardworking and versatile every pair of Mapache is- transitioning effortlessly through seasons and outfits, one pair can be worn literally hundreds of different ways and times.

A member of The Make Friday Green Again Collective, Mapache shares our passion for a greener future and the importance of conscious fashion consumption.
